Sippin’ Around The Sound- “Fresh Bistro”

The first Lovely Place I want to share with you is called “Fresh Bistro”, located in West Seattle at 4725 42nd Ave SW, Seattle, 98116 –206-935-3733 – www.herbanfeast.com  I had the pleasure of dining there today with my friend Kelly and her niece, Tanya. What a delightful surprise! The restaurant is located in the heart of West Seattle Junction in The Mural Apartments Building. The atmosphere is fresh and very comfortable. It was such a nice summer ThirstQuest kinda day…Fresh Bistro fit the bill in every way. The cocktails were SO original, fresh, flavorful and all so different. Their philosophy is to support local farms with the freshest seasonal ingredients…and the cocktails reflect this as well as the food. They change their menu monthly with the changing produce and available products. You can taste this in every sip, and nibble.

The first cocktail we had – “The Fresh Ginger” – was a great starter to open up our palettes – House Infused Ginger Vodka, Lemon Juice, Vanilla Simple Syrup topped with Ginger Ale…a delightful summer drink with just the right amount of sweet, tart and spice to get things started. It paired beautifully with our appetizers – Shiso Crusted Prawns and Crab/Sweet Potato Cakes…FABULOUS.

The second cocktail was my FAVORITE..  “The Izadora Duncan”..our waiter and Manager, Robroy..told me the story about this fabulous concoction which is lovingly named after his daughter. (I love this personal touch, which seems to reflect in all they do) The drink is made with Gin, Blackberry Simple Syrup, Lime Juice and had those “special” garnishes -a dehydrated lime that slowly opened up as I sipped, and a gorgeous plump blackberry…that he and his daughter Izadora picked together…I think that made it extra sweet. It is a delicious drink…gorgeous to look at- it’s crimson beauty shining in a cool martini glass…the tartness of the lime and the sweetness of the simple syrup blended so beautifully with the Gin…very nice.

Since Kelly’s niece is 17, she ordered a lovely virgin cocktail that was so beautiful and grownup….perfect touch for a nice young lady. They made 2 different versions of this virgin beauty, one sweet, one spicy. Accomodating all guests is very evident with the requests we made. We felt very special…

I hope you all make a reservation or stop in for lunch soon. This wonderful establishment places an emphasis on service, freshness, and relaxation. The prices of these delectible cocktails were in the range of $7 -$9…SO reasonable. They also have a happy hour menu.  I have been to many places paying double for drinks that really do not compare to the quality here. I WILL be back again…and recommend you check out Fresh Bistro soon!!

You’re REALLY doin’ it!!!!! What a great idea – and how great for these business establishments to get this great exposure with honest, descriptive comments. A nice invitation — “Come on to our place!” If I had a place — i would want to be on your blog!
