Chocolate Covered “Creamsickle”

OK…I know…this looks like a Halloween Drink…where the heck have you been ThirstQuest? Could have enjoyed this lovely spooky looking drink for Halloween…What gives? Well, I’m here now with a delicious after dinner fall drink that will bring all of you back to your childhood… Remember Creamsicles? The smooth creamy vanilla ice cream treat covered with an orange popsicle coating??? WELL…I knew I could re-create this delightful treat in an “adult beverage” form… I have been working on this for awhile. I used fresh OJ, and it just didn’t have that “childhood” flavor…the only thing that worked, for me, in this drink is Orange Koolaid…(thus, the “sick” part)

OK… we go:

In a blender (living on the edge…no cocktail shaker today)

  • 1 Cup Ice (eyeball this….doesn’t have to be exact)
  • 1 Cup Milk – Whatever kind you like 1%, 2%, 3%, whole..
  • 3 Shots 360 Brand Mandarin Orange Vodka (so delish)
  • 1 Shot Orange Liquor (I used Grand Gala)
  • 2 or So Scoops Vanilla Ice Cream (Use the brand you love)
  • 1 Cup Orange Koolaid – Make this according to directions…but use a little less sugar.

Glass preparation – Martini glasses are festive for this. I globbed Smucker’s Special Recipe Dark Chocolate Sauce on them. (You will find this in the section at your grocery store that has Ice Cream Topping Stuff) Fill a small baggy with this thick nummy stuff…and literally….glob it on your martini glasses and around the edge. The consistancy of this will hold up to the drink and will make for a delicious “lickable” glass…heh heh…

Blend the drink ingredients in the blender. Pour this delicious mixture in your chocolate globbed glasses…

This drink…will bring you back to your childhood. The orange and vanilla flavors…the chocolate accents on the glass. It is a perfect dessert.

To Make It Virgin: Eliminate the Alcohol…a delicious drink without.

To Make It Special: The Chocolate Globs on the glass…OK..and maybe an Orange Zest Strip….

I really love this drink. The holidays are upon us…stay tuned TQ fans…I have lot’s up my sleeve for easy, special, delicious, festive holiday entertaining. Can’t wait to share in the coming weeks.

Cheers!! And Enjoy!!!
