Frosty Blue Bullets

It’s Berry Season in Washington State!! I had the pleasure to go Blueberry picking about a week ago with my fellow foodie friend Kelly, from . We had a blast enjoying the beauty of the fields at Mountain View Blueberry Farm in Snohomish. It was a hot morning…we got there early…and picked 16 POUNDS of delicious sweet early blues. I made a pie, of course! I froze some for future treats…But I also had a plan to ThirstQuest them up!!! INFUSION!!  I infused Vodka – Here’s how I did it: I put a handful of clean berries in a clean bottle wth a lid. I filled halfway with vodka and then let it sit and infuse it’s berry goodness for about a week…OH is it delicious.

This recipe is full of flavor, and I felt it would be best showcased as a quick little shot before a meal. Here’s how I made it:

Frosty Blue Bullets
In a Cocktail Shaker:

  • Fill 1/4 with crushed ice
  • 2 1/2 shots of Blueberry Infused Vodka
  • 1 Shot of Blueberry Concentrate (the brand I used is Hafi – from Sweden…I got it at Ikea in Renton)
  • Big squeeze fresh lemon juice
  • Splash of water
  • Large Piece Lemon Zest

Shake Vigorously…and place in the freezer along with cute little apperitif’ glasses – (any little decorative glass that holds about a shot and a half)

Once the glasses are frosty and the mixture is really really cold…strain into each glass and garnish with lemon zest.

Makes 4

For Virgin Version
Puree some fresh berries in your blender with a little water and strain out the juice. Use that instead of the Blueberry Vodka.

To Make it Special
Float a few frozen blueberries and garnish with a little mint.
Refreshing, Sweet, Tart…and OH so Berry-licious.
